Xavier and his wife, Mandee, both grew up with dogs, but when they decided to bring home their own, Leonidas, they wanted him to be the most well-behaved dog in town. To make that happen, Xavier obtained a formal dog training certification and dedicated himself to working with the Bullweiler.
As they took Leonidas out in public, they were constantly approached by people impressed by his obedience. Jokingly at first, many asked Xavier to train their dogs, but before long, those casual requests turned into real clients. With the growing demand, Xavier started handing out business cards, and Boss K9 was born.
In addition to being a custodian, Mandee volunteers with local dog rescues, and finds it sad how many dogs end up in shelters. Their goal is to create stronger bonds between dogs and their owners, so that more can remain in loving homes instead of being surrendered to a shelter.
What began as a desire to train their own dog has transformed into a mission to share their knowledge and passion with others and make real impact in the community.
Xavier, Mandee and Leonidas live in Paris, Ontario.
